Christmas Come Too Early

So here we are. May 27th. 19 days before Thank Me Later drops. And here I am starring at two new leaks from the album. As I see "Fireworks" featuring Alicia Keys and "Light Up" featuring Jay-Z, I can't help but feel my stomach slightly drop. Why? Because here we are, May 27th, 19 days before T.M.L. drops, and half the album is released to the general public about two weeks ahead of it's official release date! I worry for Drake and his team because these leaks will help determine whether the album sells or not. Because of my anticipation for the album, I refuse to listen to anymore leaks until June 15th. I've already heard "Over", "Shut It Down", "Find Your Love", and "Miss Me" and in my opinion, I've heard too much of the album already.

I know this album was meant to be heard in an entirety, not in random, miscellaneous pieces. I'm wondering if these leaks will take away from the magic or surprise of the album. It's almost like finding your presents a week before christmas! Are the presents as exciting and valued when you find them before the right time? I don't think so. And that's what I'm afraid of.

I love it. I definitely think it'll be a Summer '10 Single if not Anthem. I mean, why not? I think at this point, it's safe to say Thank Me Later is the most anticipated album of 2010 so far and a jailed Wayne is on it? #Cmonson, Wayne and Drizzy's fan base is too large for this song to #fail. But I love the end because it reminds me of how So Far Gone felt when I first heard it and of how that still relevant feeling first felt.

{Love King June 29th}

In an earlier post, I wrote that there was a lack of faith in Dream's anticipated and alleged last album, Love King (peep the album artwork above). These two songs have definitely increased faith, but there is still a lot of doubt. These are only two hot songs out of a few recent leaks that, to me, we very lackluster and beneath Dream's talent level. "Sex Intelligent" sounds like an opening track or one of the first tracks on the album only because of it's introduction and ad-libs. I love how it captures that Atlanta steeze and vibe. My choice between the two of these would be "All Black Everything" though. I love the beat and the chopped and screwed vocals riding the kick. This type of song is the type of stuff Dream's known and loved for. I appreciate the theme as well, so much so that this would be a really hot video if done right. (side note: I think music videos are making their way back to mainstream again. sweeet) Enjoy....

Dueces

Chris and Tyga release a visual for "Dueces" off their latest mixtape "Fan Of A Fan". This is a really hot video. Tyga is repping that Cincinnati Fitted (big ups), the girl in the video is cold, and Chris is a dancing fool. I still think no one in the game can touch him dancing wise. Omarion who? Dueces

So they finally decide to drop the remix to "Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready)" with Drake on the remix. To be completely honest...I'm disappointed. Me being a listener that prefers Drake's singing to his rapping, I was hoping Drizzy would've sung the verse instead of spit. That's just what I think the track and it's mood called for. But who am I, right? He's the one on the remix.

This is the track that really surprised me. Hottest Chick In The Game

Beyonce releases a 50's inspired vintaged themed video for the song "Why Don't You Love Me" written by her sister Solange Knowles. To me, this video exemplifies how unbelievably talented these two ladies are. Solange wrote a great song and Beyonce executed the song so powerfully and skillfully. I'm digging the idea for the video as well. This is one of the first videos that I've seen in a while that really go hand-in-hand with the actual single. And of course Beyonce is looking fine as wine as usual. Peep...

Back With The Jump-Off
