Intros&Interludes

So here we are. September 19th, 2010 and I'm finally putting out a little music to satisfy myself and a few others. Really, it's been a long time coming. For years, I've written songs and recorded them but they've never left the comforts of my garageband folder of my computer. These days, I think I'm ready to step outside the folder and put it out for people to hear and listen to. Honestly, I couldn't tell you where I came up with the idea of 'Intros&Interludes'. I think I started working on little stuff here and there at the beginning of the summer and it all just grew from there. I had a lot of time on my hands this summer, so I figured I'd put my talent and time to good use. I remember vividly one week in the late summer where I recorded 4 songs straight. Around that time, I figured I had a little project on my hands and continued to delve deeper into it.
The thing I love about these songs is that although I used poetic license, I'd say 95-98% of these songs were written from true events. Probably the only song that has a fictional spin to it is "Can You Say It" which is the opening intro. Songs like "Infatuated" and "4am" are songs that I have lived through and experienced. A few people have already heard the EP and have asked if I wrote all the songs. I did, indeed, write every song on the project. Some people are just now finding out about my talent, but it's something I've been working on and developing for absolutely years. None of this has happened overnight. I hate talking and writing about myself, cause I feel like I'm bragging.
But the whole concept behind this EP is simple: in my past music listening experiences, I've noticed that interludes are some of people's favorite songs. You run them back over and over because they just don't seem long enough. I figured I'd do the same. This EP, in my opinion, gives people just enough without giving too much and it acts as a trial run as to whether or not music should be a real live avenue for me. I guess we'll have to see. For the most part, I'm happy at how everything has turned out. The order of the songs just seemed to fall into place, the timing, the tracks, everything. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed creating.
