'10

So I'm putting together a Summer '10 Playlist as I'm sure many of you are. So far the tentatively titled "10" list contains the likes of Ricky and his contributions from Albert Anastasia, 'Ye's summer amped anthem "Power", some of that Thank Me Later, a couple Wale and Waka joints, and actually a summer throwback oldie but goody, "Come & Talk To Me" from of course, Jodeci. But tonight (or this morning actually, Happy Father's Day btw), I find myself in high spirits finding Gucci Mane's latest mixtape, Mr. Zone 6. I'm elated to see this mixtape because it reminds me of Summer 2009 when Gucci was released from jail the first time and dropped the beautiful, Writing On The Wall. Classic. This mixtape lit my life up last summer. It was definitely a go-to for riding music with the windows down and sun roof open, blasting the speakers out. Yeaaaah, exactly. So in a sense, I'm looking for this new one to be to Summer 2010, what WOTW was to Summer 2009. So far, it seems to possess the same attitude as it's predecessor. And that's what I wanted. It was the sound and feeling that I fell in love with close to a year ago. But only now, I'm in a totally different place in my life right now, and I guess for me it's crazy to see the growth and maturity that's taken place since then. But enough of the deep observations. I'll be back with more posts of the 10 playlist. Cop this!
